Dale Freudenberger
Chief Executive Officer
Dale is Chief Executive Officer and leads the Paddle Energy team. During his career, he has overseen the development of more than 1.2 GW of solar across the nation. From the solar energy system atop the first LEED Platinum Hotel in the country, to thousands of individual systems on military bases, landfills and some of the first dual use systems to provide farming and pollinator habitat in conjunction with solar. He is an expert in power markets and an accomplished investor and officer of private companies.
Dale was co-founder and CEO of FLS Energy, where he successfully ran and built a team recognized as a leader in the solar development industry. FLS Energy received recognition as the fastest growing company in North Carolina for two consecutive years by Inc. Magazine and was consistently voted as one of the Best Employers in North Carolina. He led the recapitalization which culminated in the successful merger of FLS Energy with Cypress Creek Renewables in 2017.
He is a Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient and is a passionate supporter and volunteer, serving as a board member to several non-profit organizations. He has also served on advisory boards for Western Carolina University’s Electrical Computer Engineering Technology Program and the University of North Carolina Energy Frontier Research Center’s Industrial Advisory Board.
