Matt Short
Chief Commercial Officer
Matt Short is the Chief Commercial Officer at Paddle Energy, where he leads the company’s commercial strategy, including business development, project finance, and market expansion. He brings more than 15 years of experience in distributed generation solar, with a strong track record of originating and executing more than $700 million in renewable energy transactions.
Prior to Paddle, Matt served as SVP at SolAmerica Energy, where he was part of the Executive Team and Investment Committee. There he led market expansion throughout the eastern United States, built high performing teams, and also played a central role in the company’s sale to AB Carval. Earlier in his career, Matt held leadership roles at M+W Energy, Petra Systems, Southland Energy, and Johnson Controls, where he consistently delivered growth in renewable and energy efficiency portfolios, including federal and municipal sectors. He began his career in civil construction and real estate development, giving him a strong foundation in project execution.
Matt is based in Summit, NJ where he lives with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he is active in youth soccer and enjoys watching his kids play competitive sports.
